Visas and Work Permits

Visas and work permits

Visas

Students from outside the European Union (EU) must obtain a visa to enter the United Kingdom.

You can apply for a visa at the British Embassy or Consulate in your country.

(Citizens of some non-EU countries are not required to obtain a visa, and can apply when they arrive in the UK.)

To qualify for a student visa you must confirm that you are registered in an educational institution, and that your course is full time.

A full time course consists of 15 hours minimum per week.

You must also demonstrate that you can support yourself financially during your time in the UK.

If you register with us, we will assist you to apply for a visa by sending you the necessary documentation. We will do all we can to support your application but we cannot guarantee that you will be successful.

You can obtain more information from the British Consulate or High Commission in your country. Or you can visit the Home Office website for more details.

Work permits

If you enter the UK on a student visa you are allowed to work part time (up to 20 hours per week) during the school term and full time during holidays.
