Combine your English lessons with a course in Computing!
Our friendly computing staff have expertise in Information Technology
and are experienced in teaching a range of courses. The College
is registered as an OCR CLAIT/IBT and City and Guilds Examination
Centre.
We offer 3 short, part-time courses in computing and also a longer,
full-time course leading to a Diploma in Information Technology.
The 3 short courses are:
- Introduction to PC – for anyone who wants to start using
a Personal Computer
- Introduction to Web Design – focusing on the use of HTML
in web design
- Computer Graphics – this course focuses on how to use
Adobe Illustrator. Students who complete this course can choose
to take the OCR (Oxford Cambridge Royal Society of Arts) examination
in Computer Art and Desktop Publishing.
These courses last 2-3 weeks and you can start any Monday. Students
study for 2 hours a day (from 18:30-20:30) as well as their English
lessons. Teachers are available at all times in the computer classrooms
for help and suggestions.
Our full-time Information Technology Diploma course is 36 weeks
in duration and students study for 3 hours per day, as well as their
English lessons. You can have your computing lessons from 09:00
- 12:00, or 12:10 - 15:10 or 15:20 - 18:20.
This course aims to teach basic office skills, including Microsoft
Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. When you complete
this course, your computer skills will be assessed for OCR CLAIT
certification. You will also have the opportunity to create your
own web site and to launch it onto the Internet from the College.
